Grapevine, Texas, March 20, 2007

On March 18, 2007, the final occupancy permit was granted for the new international headquarters of the iPlace. The four-acre campus is in the center of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, adjacent to the DFW airport, and serviced by five major highways. Anyone living in the Metroplex can be at the iPlace within 25 minutes. Anyone living in the contiguous 48 states can be on the campus in four hours.

Don McMinn, executive director, explains the meaning of the name. “The “i” in the iPlace stands for words like ideas, innovation, imagination, invention, inspiration, initiative, influence—powerful words that launch movements and shape societies. This campus has been designed to be a catalyst to help people experience the “i words.

“Victor Hugo said, ‘There is one thing stronger than all the armies in the world, and that is an idea whose time has come.’ In the coming years, significant ideas will be birthed on this campus; thoughts will be spawned that may alter the course of history.”

The main building is a ranch-style house built in 1948. The house has been remodeled to include a library, conference room, great room, meeting room and full-service kitchen. Organizations and individuals can rent the iPlace for retreats, meetings, seminars, dinners, and receptions.

The first event sponsored in the new facility was a three-day Leaders Summit workshop. Multiple open-houses will be hosted in April.
